Ravens TE Benjamin Watson Out For Season With Torn Achilles

BALTIMORE (WJZ)-- Baltimore Ravens veteran tight end Benjamin Watson is out for the season after suffering a torn Achilles during Saturday night's pre-season game against the Detroit Lions.

Watson, 35, was signed by the Ravens on a two-year contract this offseason.

Ravens officials say they will likely go into the season with Crockett Gillmore, Pitta and Williams as the tight ends, as long as all three are healthy.

Rookie running back Kenneth Dixon also suffered knee sprain during Saturday night's game. The extent of the injury is still being evaluated.

"Does not look like an overly serious injury," Head Coach John Harbaugh said. "We'll see tomorrow with the MRI, but there's some optimism there."
