Popular Baltimore Bartender Alex Wroblewski's Murder Trial Underway

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Alex Wrobleski, a popular Baltimore bartender, was 41-years-old when he was murdered in November 2017.

Friday, Wroblewski's murder trial started.

Witnesses said that Wroblewski seemed intoxicated when he had stopped at a Royal Farms after work, when he was shot in the parking lot.

In an opening statement, prosecutors said Wroblewski's condition made him a target for robbery.

Tonya Hayes and her boyfriend Marquese Winston were arrested for Wroblewski's murder and each face 22 charges related to the crime.

Winston allegedly took a gun from the car and shot Wroblewski once in the abdomen.

Haye's 21-year-old son, Tivontre Gatling-Mouzon, is also on trial who allegedly joined Wilson to follow the victim.

In a plea agreement, Gatling-Mouzon agreed to testify against his mother and Wilson and will be sentenced after their murder trial.

The defense will argue nothing was taken and there was no robbery, and that the killing was not premeditated murder.

Friends and family of Wrobleski did not want to talk leaving court, but said days after the murder that they were in shock and grief.

A jury will now judge those charged with his murder.
