Police Investigating 2 Weekend Homicides In Baltimore

BALTIMORE (AP) -- Police are investigating two separate shooting deaths in Baltimore over the weekend.

Baltimore Police on Sunday released details of two homicides. The first occurred Saturday at about 9 a.m. on Bel Air Road in the city's Northeast District. Police found a male victim who was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center for treatment. He was pronounced dead early Sunday morning.

Police say the second incident occurred Sunday at about 1:30 a.m. in the Western District. Police were called to Edmondson Avenue for a shooting. A male victim there was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are urging anyone with information on the shootings to call their tip line.

The city has experienced a big increase this year in homicides, with nearly 300 reported so far in 2015.
