Suspect Arrested After Officer-Involved Shooting In Suitland; No Injuries Reported

SUITLAND, Md. (WJZ) -- One person was arrested following an officer-involved shooting in Prince George's County Tuesday night.

Officials said the shooting happened in the 3500 block of Silver Park Drive. Officers were patrolling the area due to an increase in gun-related crimes in the area when they came across a group of people who were drinking in public.

When the officers went to talk to the group, one person fled, police said.

An officer caught up to the suspect, who then pulled a handgun from his waistband, police said. The officer drew his gun and fired several shots, none of which hit anyone.

A second officer arrived and took the man into custody, police said.

No officers or suspects were injured, police said.
