Quadriplegic Md. Army Veteran And Wife Rescued From House Fire

GAITHERSBURG, Md. (WJZ) -- Neighbors help a quadriplegic Maryland veteran and his wife when their home goes up in flames.

Former Army Captain Flip Klein and his wife were inside their Gaithersburg home at the time of the fire.

Neighbors were alerted by the couple's dogs and helped carry them to safety.

They were taken to the hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.

Their home was heavily damaged in the blaze.

Investigators believe an electrical wiring problem sparked the fire.

Klein survived an explosion in Afghanistan two years ago.
