Montgomery County Police Investigating Hate Crime

KENSINGTON, Md. (AP) -- Montgomery County police are investigating vandalism they believe falls into the category of a hate crime.

Police say officers responded to three streets in Kensington for reports of vandalism.

Police say the suspect used blue spray paint to scrawl swastikas, racial and ethnic slurs and profane language on property including inflatable Christmas lawn decorations.

Police say the suspect or suspects vandalized the property sometime between Friday night and Saturday morning.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
