Man Struck And Killed By Vehicle In Baltimore
BALTIMORE (WJZ)—A man has died after he was struck by a vehicle on Friday afternoon in Baltimore.
It happened just before 3:00 p.m. in the 800 block of East Belvedere Avenue.
Police say the Nathaniel Smith, 49, was walking in the roadway along the curb, westbound on East Belvedere Avenue when he was struck. According to investigators, Smith suddenly changed direction and walked into the path of the Honda Fit.
"The driver of the Honda swerved, but did not have adequate time to avoid striking the pedestrian," police said in a news release.
The driver remained at the scene.
The victim was transported to Johns Hopkins where he later died.
