Man Sentenced To 8 Years In Diamond Store Robbery

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- A Baltimore man has been sentenced to eight years in prison for robbing a diamond store of $100,000 with of jewels.

Forty-five-year-old Charles Boatwright was also approved to enroll in a substance abuse treatment program at sentencing Wednesday in Frederick County Circuit Court, The News-Post of Frederick reports.

Boatwright pleaded guilty to robbing a Wholesale Diamond Consultants store in March 2014.

Prosecutors say Boatwright displayed a gun during the robbery. It was a non-working antique.
