Man Sentenced For Stealing Drugs From Hospitals

GREENBELT, Md. (AP) -- A pharmacy technician at Walter Reed who was convicted of conspiring to steal prescription drugs from two military hospitals has been sentenced to 5 years in prison.

Sixty-two-year-old Issa Koroma of Springdale was sentenced Wednesday in federal court in Greenbelt.

Prosecutors say Koroma worked at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda. Authorities say Koroma and others, who worked at Fort Belvoir Community Hospital in Virginia, stole from than $1 million worth of pharmaceuticals and sold them.

Among the medications Koroma and others stole were varieties of human growth hormone, Botox and Viagra, prosecutors say.
