LISTEN: Police Release 911 Calls From Bull Loose In West Baltimore
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Baltimore City Police released Friday several 911 calls detailing the first minutes a bull got loose and ran through part of west Baltimore Wednesday.
"A live bull is running on North Avenue! A live bull. He must have got out of the trailer cage. He's running around. He's wild," one caller said.
The nearly six-minute recording includes multiple calls, including one from the bull's owner, who said the animal got loose from his trailer.
"I just had a bull get off a trailer just off of North Avenue. He's headed south now," the owner said in the call, adding people were trying to chase down the animal with garbage trucks.
The calls to 911 started coming in just after 3 p.m. when they first saw the animal running in the middle of the street.
"It looks like it came out of somebody's trailer or something, but it's running up the street. It almost hit this one guy!"
Even 911 dispatchers couldn't believe what they were hearing.
"There's what, sir? A bull?" one dispatcher asked a caller.
It took around three hours for officials to tranquilize and capture the bull, which was not hurt and has since gone to a farm.
The bull was on its way to Frederick when it escaped.
"I couldn't believe it. It was unbelievable. I thought he was joking, he said he was dead serious."

After all the excitement, the bull is now back home on the farm and his owners said he is doing well after the chaotic escape.
