Hogan Names 3 Cabinet Secretaries

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- Gov. Larry Hogan has named three Cabinet secretaries.

The governor's announcement on Wednesday moved him close to finishing his Cabinet nominations.

Carol Beatty has been nominated to be secretary of the Department of Disabilities. She has served as the executive director of The Arc of Howard, a private nonprofit organization that provides advocacy and support services for more than 750 children and adults.

David Garcia has been nominated to be secretary of the Department of Information Technology. He is president of NMR Consulting.
Jennie Hunter-Cevera has been named secretary of the Maryland Higher Education Commission.

The nominations are subject to Senate confirmation. Hogan, a Republican, has two more Cabinet appointments to make: secretary of the Department of Natural Resources and superintendent of the state police.
