Eddie Matz Of ESPN On Why National Media Doesn't See Orioles As Contender

Eddie Matz, a senior writer for ESPN.com who covers the MLB, joined Ed and Rob to talk about the Orioles leading the AL East and to give a look ahead at the stretch run in the MLB.

Eddie started off by talking about why someone from the outside looking in wouldn't buy the Orioles as a contender saying, "because they're not on Sunday night baseball every week, that's an over simplification...I've covered both the Orioles and the Nationals and both have played great baseball but they don't get the national TV love and aren't part of the national consciousness."

As for how he felt about the team prior to some of their recent roster moves Eddie said, "prior to moving Bundy to the rotation and acquiring Wade Miley I probably would've said the same things."

Eddie went on to talk about the other teams in the AL East, and how the arrival of the Ravens effected the Orioles attendance and fan following.
