Driver Pleads Guilty To DUI After Hitting 2 Bikers

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- An Annapolis woman has pleaded guilty to two offenses after she hit two bicyclists, seriously injuring one of them.

Fifty-four-year-old Robin Vera Colbert pleaded guilty Thursday to causing a life-threatening injury while under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol while transporting a minor

Prosecutors say on June 28, Colbert was driving south on Governor Ritchie Highway in Annapolis when she drove onto the right shoulder. The shoulder is marked as the Baltimore & Annapolis Trail.

Investigators say Colbert hit 23-year-old Katie Pohler of Glen Burnie and 27-year-old Todd Green of Severna Park, who were biking on the trail portion.

Both bicyclists were flown to Shock Trauma in Baltimore. Green was treated and released; Pohler was released nearly a month later.
