Community Comes Together After Noose Found Outside School

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- The community of Crofton is fighting back after a noose was found hanging at a school.

On Sunday, the group "Crofton Is Kind" decided to spread kindness by chalking the walkway of the school.

Parents, children, and neighbors grabbed some chalk and hit the sidewalk at Crofton Middle School.

"I knew we had to do something," said Kristen Caminit. "And so when a mom of a student here at Crofton Middle [School] reached out to me and said, 'What if we chalk the walk?' I was like, 'That would be amazing.' And I think it's just a really visible symbol of the positivity and kindness that this community really represents."

When the children arrive at school Monday morning, they will see one positive message after another.
