BWI To Speed Up Customs Lines Via Mobile App

BALTIMORE (AP) — Travelers to BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport now have the option of using a mobile application to get through customs faster.

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection said in a news release Friday that the airport will become the 18th one to offer Mobile Passport Control admission processing.

The free app allows eligible travelers to submit their passport information and customs declaration form via smartphone or tablet prior to arrival. It can be downloaded from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

Airport CEO Ricky Smith says the app will decrease wait times, ease congestion and speed up processing.

By using the app, travelers will not have to complete a paper customs declaration form.
