Baltimore Dog Owner's 'Lucky Pup' Sniffs Out Winning Ticket

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -– A Baltimore dog owner won the Maryland Lottery's $30,000 Rainbow Blackout Bingo scratch-off with the help of her "lucky pup."

Muriel Holt said she took her dog "Buddy" to the veterinarian and stopped to get a $2 lottery ticket on the way back home.

She said Buddy helped her sniff out a winning ticket while she was in the store.

Muriel, who performs intake services for mental health provider Mosaic Community Services, said she found the ticket at Crosstown Liquors in Baltimore.

"I couldn't believe it," Muriel said, while claiming her prize at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore. "No one knows I've won just yet."

She plans to use the money for home improvements and a shopping spree with her granddaughter.
