52 Arrested In Undercover Narcotics Operation In Ocean City

OCEAN CITY, Md. (WJZ)—A total of 52 people have been arrested in connection to a recent undercover narcotics operation, officials in Ocean City say.

The investigation began in June throughout Ocean City.

Authorities say 19 people were arrested for distribution of narcotics, 18 arrested for conspiracy to distribute narcotics and 15 arrests were made for disorderly conduct and other local ordinance violations.

During the undercover operations, detectives seized numerous drugs including heroin, MDMA, cocaine, marijuana and over 150 prescription pills, all worth a street value of $2,655.

"Detectives also seized two handguns, 11 concealed deadly weapons (knives, metal knuckles, stun guns), three vehicles and over $4,550 in U.S. currency," police said in a news release.

Police say these undercover operations will continue throughout the year to ensure safety of the residents of Ocean City and its visitors.

Authorities have not identified the suspects arrested at this time.
