1 Killed, Several Hurt In Multi-Car Crash In Landover

LANDOVER, Md. (AP) -- Maryland State Police say a woman was killed and several other people were hurt in a multi-vehicle crash in Landover.

It happened about 9 a.m. Thursday on Largo Road at Lottsford Road, troopers said in a news release. Police say 53-year-old Angela Jefferson of Springdale was driving a GMC when her vehicle collided with a Silverado driven by 34-year-old Juan Sanchez of Laurel.

Investigators say those cars crashed into seven other vehicles. Troopers say Jefferson was pronounced dead at a hospital. Several other drivers and passengers, including Sanchez, were taken to hospitals.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
