1 Dead In Single-Vehicle Crash In Perry Hall

TOWSON, Md. (AP) -- Police say one man is dead and another in critical condition after a solo car crash in Baltimore County.

Police say the crash happened Friday just before 9 p.m. on Joppa Road near Brewers Drive. Police say the driver of a 2001 Volkswagen Jetta lost control of his car, went off the road and struck two trees. Police say an 18-year-old passenger in the car, Nathan Alexander Chappelle of White Marsh, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver, 18-year-old James Richard Murphy, also of White Marsh, was taken to a hospital in critical condition. Police are continuing to investigate.
