Freezing winter weather bursts city budgets
Some cities have nearly used up their entire snow removal budgets, while the cold is being blamed for an increase in water main breaks. Michigan has spent almost $6 million on snow removal, twice as much as last winter, and one Long Island community will likely have to borrow money for additional snow removal this winter.
