Almanac: The automatic cow milker
On November 13, 1930, the dairy industry experienced a genuine turn-around, for that was the day Walker Gordon, an experimental dairy farm in Plainsboro, N.J., inaugurated the "Rotolactor" - a rotating platform to mechanically milk cows. Jane Pauley reports.
