UC Davis student missing
Authorities said they found a body along the American River in Sacramento that was identified as missing University of California, Irvine student Linnea Lomax. The 19-year-old was last seen leaving an outpatient mental health facility in Sacramento on June 26.
Sacramento County Coroner Greg Wyatt said the cause of death is under investigation, but foul play doesn't appear to be a factor.
Lomax's family says she was getting treatment at the mental health facility after suffering a breakdown while studying for final exams. She was placed in an outpatient therapy center for 10 days and disappeared a day after being released.
Since her disappearance, hundreds of family, friends and volunteers have searched for the missing teen in in the Sacramento area.
