The dark clumps of material scattered around the bright nucleus are pieces of wreckage from the galaxy's interactions with its larger neighbors. NGC 3077 is a member of the M81 group of galaxies and it resides 12.5 million light-years from Earth.

Mimas The Moon
Saturn's moon Mimas is seen beneath the rings of the planet. Mimas is the innermost of the planet's major moons and is 246 miles across. The images were acquired with Cassini's narrow-angle camera at a distance of approximately 1.7 million miles from Saturn and 1.8 million miles from Mimas.

Newly released X-ray images show how a teenage boy cheated death when a 5-inch knife was plunged into his head. The 16-year-old and two other young men were injured when they tried to stop a friend from being robbed at a bus stop. He was rushed to hospital with the kitchen knife still stuck in his forehead after the attack in Walworth, south London, last November.
