Headlining the half-time entertainment at this year's Super Bowl XL Feb. 5 in Detroit will be the Rolling Stones. The British rockers are in the middle of their "A Bigger Bang" world tour and will be heading off to Europe after the big game.

In the midst of a successful comback, pop singer Mariah Carey has eight Grammy nominations, as do Kanye West and John Legend. The winners will be announced at a black-tie Feb. 8 ceremony, to be shown live on CBS.
J.K. Rowling
British author J.K. Rowling plans to spend 2006 writing the seventh and last book in her wildly popular "Harry Potter" series. The sixth installment of Rowling's fantasy series, "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince," came out last summer. Total worldwide sales of the Harry Potter books top 300 million copies.
Bode Miller
U.S. alpine skier Bode Miller is a good bet for a medal at the 2006 Winter Olympics Feb. 10 to 26 in Turin, Italy. A four-time world champion, he won two silver medals at the Salt Lake City games in 2002 and last year became the first American in more than two decades to take home the World Cup.

Britney Spears' hubby, Kevin Federline has a new album coming out in early 2006 and has created his own Web site, Kevinfederline.com, which he says will be fully operational early in the year.

Former President Ronald Reagan's White House diaries -- five leatherbound volumes -- are being published in 2006 by HarperCollins under an agreement with Reagan's memorial library. It is expected to provide the most complete, up-to-date account yet of daily life in the Oval Office.

Multiple Oscar winner Tom Hanks, seen here filming with co-star Audrey Tatou, will be in the news in May when his eagerly awaited new movie, "The DaVinci Code," opens. The movie is based on a wildly popular bestseller by Dan Brown.

Actors Johnny Depp, right, and Orlando Bloom will send female hearts aflutter this summer whenthey reprise their swashbuckling roles in the sequel "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest." The movie is due out in July.
Julia Roberts
Oscar-winning actress Julia Roberts makes her Broadway debut this year in a revival of Richard Greenberg's "Three Days of Rain." The play, directed by Joe Mantello and also starring Paul Rudd, will open a 12-week run in April.
'Desperate Housewives'
The women of Wisteria Lane will continue to draw attention with their soap opera lives. The creators of the ABC Sunday night drama series just announced that the character Bree, played by Marcia Cross, will show signs of alcoholism in coming episodes.
Tom Cruise
The actor Tom Cruise, shown filmimg a scene from "Mission Impossible 3" will be in the news in May when that blockbuster, which just wrapped up filming in China, opens in theaters. He will also become a dad this year and may just marry girlfiend Katie Holmes, the expectant mother.
Bo Bice
"American Idol" rummer-up Bo Bice has just released an albub and has a score of performances scheduled for early 2006, following in the footsteps of another "Idol" loser, Clay Aiken.
Matt Damon
Actor Matt Damon and hs new wife, Lucianne Bozan, will be parents in 2006. They were married Dec. 9 in a private ceremony in New York's City Hall. This will be Damon's first child; Bozan has a daughter by a previous marriage.
Also becoming new parents in 2006 are Donald and Melania Trump, seen here at the Broadway opening of "The Color Purple." It is Melania's first child. Trump, a real-estate tycoon and reality TV figure, has an 11-year-old daughter, Tiffany, with ex-wife Marla Maples; and three children -Donald Jr., 27, Ivanka, 23, and Eric, 21 - with his first wife, Ivana.
