In 1988, Rob Lowe was involved in a scandal over a videotape of him having sex with two females, one of whom was 16. She was filmed with Lowe during the night before the Democratic National Convention in Atlanta. Lowe has asserted that he did not know that the second girl was underage. Lowe agreed to perform 20 hours of community service to avoid criminal charges.

On October 2, 1978, Tim Allen was arrested in the Kalamazoo-Battle Creek International Airport for possession of over 650 grams (1.4 lb) of cocaine. He subsequently pleaded guilty to drug trafficking, and provided the names of other dealers in exchange for a sentence of three to seven years, instead of possible life imprisonment. He was paroled on June 12, 1981 after serving 2 years and 4 months in the Federal Correctional Institution in Sandstone, Minnesota.

On December 12, 2001, Winona Ryder was arrested on shoplifting charges in Beverly Hills, California. She was accused of stealing $5,500 worth of designer clothes and accessories at a Saks Fifth Avenue department store. Ryder was convicted of grand theft, shoplifting and vandalism, but was acquitted on the third felony charge, burglary. In December 2002, she was sentenced to three years' probation, 480 hours of community service, $3,700 in fines, $6,355 in restitution to the Saks store, and ordered to attend psychological and drug counseling.

This photo of Los Angeles Lakers basketball player Kobe Bryant was taken on July 4, 2003 by the Eagle County, Colorado Sheriff's Office, as Bryant was booked on charges of felony sexual assault. A 19-year-old hotel employee accused Bryant of raping her in his hotel room the night before Bryant was to have surgery. The assault case was ultimately dropped by prosecutors after the accuser refused to testify at trial. Bryant admitted to an adulterous encounter with his accuser, but denied her sexual assault allegation.

An anonymous caller led investigators to a hotel room at the resort where they say they found the actor alone with cocaine and methamphetamines. In July 2001, Downey pleaded no contest to the charges, avoiding jail time. Instead, he was ordered into drug rehabilitation and given three years' probation.

On October 26, 1999, Matthew McConaughey was arrested in Austin, Texas, for resisting arrest and possession of marijuana, following a disturbance in the early hours of the morning.
He was found at home, naked, playing music very loudly on bongo drums. McConaughey denied the drug charges (which were subsequently dropped), but was charged with disturbing the peace. He pleaded guilty and paid a $50 fine.

He was released after serving three years behind bar.

Christian Slater was arrested in West Hollywood, California, on Dec. 29, 1989 after leading sheriff's deputies on a car chase. A sheriff's spokesman said Slater crashed into a telephone pole, got out of his car and kicked a cop, then tried to escape over a fence. He was charged with evading police, driving under the influence, assault with a deadly weapon (his cowboy boots) and driving with a suspended license. He spent 10 days in jail.

Robert Kelly (aka R. Kelly)
Singer R. Kelly is shown in this police handout photo January 22, 2003 at the Dade County Jail in Florida. Kelly was arrested on charges of child pornography after police found a video of him engaging in sex acts with an underage girl. The alleged victim denied it was her. After less than a day of deliberations a Chicago jury found Kelly not guilty of all 14 counts on June 13, 2008 - seven counts of videotaping the acts, and seven counts of producing child pornography.

In July 1991, while visiting relatives, Reubens was arrested in Sarasota, Florida for indecent exposure in an adult theater. Reubens later pleaded no contest to the charge. He was fined, had to pay court costs, and was ordered to produce an anti-drug public service announcement.

In June 2005, Crowe was arrested and charged with second-degree assault by New York City police, after he threw a telephone at an employee of the Mercer Hotel who refused to help him place a call when the system did not work from his room. He was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon (the telephone), and sentenced to conditional release.
