Zoe Saldana considering "Guardians of the Galaxy"

Apparently, Zoe Saldana really like her space flicks. She's reprising her role as Uhura in "Star Trek Into Darkness," which opens May 17, and will don her blue skin once again as Neytiri in Avatar 2. And now she's in talks to join another space-set adventure (where she won't be blue, but green).

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Saldana is in negotiations to play the female lead in Marvel Studios' space-set adventure movie "Guardians of the Galaxy."

Directed by James Gunn, Saldana would play the skilled assassin Gamora, the green-skinned humanoid who is the last of a species that was exterminated by a race known as the Badoon.

Saldana would join Chris Pratt, who is playing Star-Lord, and Dave Bautista, who's portraying Drax the Destroyer. The superhero group also includes Groot, a giant tree-man, and Rocket Raccoon, a genetically engineered animal with a knack for guns and explosives.

The film is aiming for a June production start date, and Disney has set an Aug. 1, 2014, release date for "Guardians."
