White House Responds to CBS News Investigation

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs, Dec. 21, 2010

During today's White House press briefing, Press Secretary Robert Gibbs responded to a question regarding CBS News chief investigative correspondent Armen Keteyian's report about al Qaeda's use of poison.

"Our counter-terrorism and Homeland Security officials take every credible threat very seriously," Gibbs told reporters.

"As you know, there is significant planning for and coordination to prevent unconventional attacks using chemical, biological, or radiological weapons. We will continue to remain vigilant to ensure we're doing all that we can to prevent it."

In his CBS Evening News report, Keteyian explained that the latest terror threat to America involves the possible use of poisons - simultaneous attacks targeting hotels and restaurants at many locations over a single weekend.
