"I'm really excited about this season," star Mandy Patinkin told ETonline at Showtime's Pre-Emmy Party on September 21. "The writers have knocked it out of the park this season. I have not been disappointed in a single script. It's pretty exciting stuff. It keeps changing. It has quite a life of its own. It's like a great novel to me, and I encourage the audience to not be impatient, to keep reading chapter after chapter, and you'll be as surprised as I was."

"Homeland" premieres Sunday at 9 p.m. ET on Showtime.
