Wash. mother assaulted; son, 2nd teen arrested
SPOKANE, Wash. A Spokane County sheriff's spokesman says two teenage boys have been arrested in a bizarre sword attack on one teen's mother that reportedly included a discussion of killing the woman and eating her liver.
Deputies responding to an assault call early Tuesday found the bloody woman on her bed with two knives and a sword next to her. Deputy Craig Chamberlin said the woman was hospitalized Wednesday in stable condition. She was not identified.
The spokesman says deputies tracked the teens through a crime spree that included breaking into a home and crashing an SUV before a K-9 located them.
"I've seen cops here a few times. I came over to see what's going on and the cops just say, 'oh they're having problems with their son,'" said Joey Cordray, a neighbor, as reported by CBS affiliate KREM Spokane
Chamberlin says the woman's 13-year-old son told deputies he talked his 14-year-old friend into attacking his mother. The younger boy said he came up with that idea because he'd taken "blue pills." According to a deputy's report, the son said his friend tried to talk him into eating the woman's liver.
Both boys were booked into juvenile detention.
