Virginia police seek 2 suspects in McDonald's shooting

WOODBRIDGE, Va. - Police are searching for two suspects involved in a shooting at a McDonald's in Virginia that left one man injured in a possible drug deal gone wrong, reports CBS affiliate WUSA.

Authorities said the victim, 23, had made arrangements to meet with a female acquaintance, 31-year-old Jamie Bowyer, in the parking lot of the fast food restaurant Monday evening in Woodbridge. When he got there, police said Bowyer was with another man, 28-year-old DeWayne Williams, and the two men got into an altercation. Shortly before 6:50 p.m., the victim was shot in the face, according to the station.

Police said Williams and Bowyer fled the scene. The victim then reportedly went into the McDonald's and someone called the police. He was flown to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, the station reports.

According to WUSA, an officer spotted the suspects' vehicle but the driver - believed to be Williams - pulled into the parking lot of nearby Freedom High School and fled on foot. Bowyer was not in the car, and police said she must have parted ways with Williams after the shooting. Officers set up a perimeter around the high school and used a police K-9 to search for the suspect.

The station reports police later learned the suspect may have carjacked another person nearby after abandoning his vehicle. The carjacking victim told police that a man flagged him down, opened the passenger side door of his vehicle and got in.

The driver said that he and the suspect got into a verbal altercation which resulted in the man forcing the victim to drive him away from the area.

A police spokesperson said officers searched the area where the suspect got out of the car and ran away, as well a few addresses in a nearby neighborhood that Williams is known to frequent.

WUSA reports Williams is still at large and police say he should be considered armed and dangerous. He is described as a black male, about 5-foot-6-inches tall and weighing 130 pounds with a thin build. He has black hair, brown eyes and tattoos on his arms.

Bowyer is a white female, approximately 5-foot-4-inches, 135 pounds and has blonde hair and hazel/gray eyes, according to police.

Both suspects are wanted for aggravated malicious wounding and use of a firearm in commission of a felony.
