Virginia mom vanishes after complaining of head pains

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. - Authorities are searching for a Virginia mother who was last seen Tuesday after checking into a walk-in clinic complaining of head pains, reports CBS affiliate WTVR.

Mark Ditto says he spoke to his wife, 41-year-old Connie Ditto, of Henrico, on Tuesday night at around 8 p.m. and she told him she wasn't feeling well and was heading to the clinic in Short Pump.

He says his wife later sent him a text from the urgent health center and told him she was being sent to the hospital for X-rays. Police, however, later told Mark Ditto that wasn't the case; his wife had left the clinic before her name was called.

Connie Ditto's cell phone was reportedly turned off after that last text exchange with her husband.

WTVR reports Henrico police are investigating the woman's disappearance.

According to Mark Ditto, Connie Ditto hurt her head in a fall last week. He told the station he fears her disappearance may be the result of an internal injury she either failed to disclose or did not know about.

He also told the station his wife has battled with alcohol abuse and depression in her life.

Connie Ditto was reportedly driving a dark blue 2014 Volkswagen Tiguan with the Virginia license plate number WLV8676. She is described as a Hispanic female, 5'2", 115 pounds, with short length dark brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call the Henrico Police Department at 804-501-1000.
