Va. dad allegedly left infant girls in car while he had sex

PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Va. - A father of twin 1-year-old girls was arrested after police allegedly found him having sex with a woman behind a building while his daughters were left alone in a parked car 10 yards away, reports CBS affiliate WTVR.

Forty-seven-year-old Juan Munford's infant daughters were found by authorities in a parked car with the windows down in the driveway of a duplex in Prince George County, Va., according to the station. Officers had been called to the scene by neighbors who heard the children's cries Friday morning.

"We went around to the back of the duplex and discovered a male and a female engaging in sexual intercourse," Prince George Police Capt. Brian Kei told WTVR. "At that point, [officers] made contact with the individual, who identified himself as the father of the two twins."

The station reports Munford has been charged with two counts of felony child endangerment and one count of indecent exposure. The woman was also charged with indecent exposure and released on scene. Police said she was not the girls' mother.

As a precaution, the children were taken to Southside Regional Medical Center. According to WTVR, they were then placed in the custody of child protective services.

Munford is due in court sometime this week, the station reports.
