VIDEO: Victim beaten with nunchucks after resisting attempted robbery in NYC

(CBS) NEW YORK - Police in Manhattan are looking for three suspects in an attempted robbery using nunchucks caught on tape, CBS New York reports.

Authorities said the attack took place in the mezzanine area of the West 157th Street subway station.

The victim, a 25-year-old man, was approached by the suspects, who told him they liked and wanted his jacket, CBS New York reports.

The suspects, police said, began to beat the victim with their hands and feet and when he resisted, one of the suspects began beating the victim with nunchucks.

The victim was able to flee through the turnstile and was taken to Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, where he was treated and released with lacerations to his head, police said.

All three suspects are described as Hispanic males between 17 and 19-years-old, 5-foot-7 and 5-8, and 150 pounds.
