Tyler Perry expecting first child with model girlfriend
Tyler Perry is going to be a dad.
A source confirms to ET that the media mogul, 45, is expecting his first child with girlfriend, Ethiopian model Gelila Bekele, 28. The couple have been off and on for five years.
The source tells ET that Bekele is far along into the pregnancy and that the expectant parents couldn't be more thrilled.
Last year, Perry talked about wanting to be a dad during an interview on Steve Harvey, saying, "I know I would be a great father. I don't want to work this hard. I don't want to have all of this and not leave it to my children."
At that time, Perry felt that fatherhood was best left on the backburner, due to his schedule.
"As hard as I'm working -- doing 20 hours a day -- now is not the time," Perry told Harvey.
Perry had a star-studded 45th birthday party earlier this month, featuring Jennifer Holliday, LeAnn Rimes, Yolanda Adams, Tevin Campbell, Stevie Wonder and more, so we can only imagine what the baby shower will look like!
