Tom Hardy to play Elton John?

First Bane and now Rocketman? A new report is claiming that "The Dark Knight Rises" villain Tom Hardy is being considered for the role of Sir Elton John in the icon's upcoming biopic.

According to website Hitfix, the 35-year-old actor, known for his roles in "DKR," "Bronson" and "Inception," may star in the film that's being described as "a biographical musical fantasy that weaves together the life of Sir Elton John and his music." Elton himself is executive producing the project, which is being directed by newcomer Michael Gracey.

The website confirms that Bernie Taupin and John Reid will be included in the film.
