Toddler, 2, Apparently Drowns In Bathtub, Mother Brianne Luna Arrested

NORCO, Calif. (CBS/KCAL/KPSP) Riverside County authorities arrested 21-year-old Brianne Luna on suspicion of murder after her 2-year-old son apparently drowned in the bathtub, said CBS affiliate KCAL.

According to KCAL, deputies responded to a call from Luna's home around 3:45 p.m. Tuesday. Firefighters attempted to resuscitate the child who appeared to have drowned.  The toddler was rushed to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Police took Luna into custody two hours later, where she was held at Robert Presley Detention Center, said CBS affiliate KPSP. Luna's bail is set at $1 million and she is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Riverside Superior Court.

Investigators told KCAL that Luna declined to speak about what happened to her son and a possible motive remains unclear.
