Time For The Tax Man
It’s been five years since the IRS announced a series of reforms. On Sunday Morning, CBS News Correspondent Thalia Assuras takes a look at what’s happened to the agency – and to taxpayers – since then.
"The tax forms themselves have become utterly incomprehensible," says Pete Sepp, who has been fighting for tax reform for 14 years as spokesperson for the nonprofit National Taxpayers Union.
Also, later in the report, Sepp points out, "It is almost a comedy to have to fill out your tax return. You don't know whether to laugh or cry. In fact, a whole play has been written about it."
But, as Assuras reports, tax time is far from entertaining.
