The Feed: Tax Cut Compromise?

Some of the families who ran for their lives when a San Bruno, California neighborhood erupted in flames last week are getting back into their homes. The gas line explosion and fire killed at least 4 people and destroyed dozens of homes. A sample of the pipe is headed Washington for laboratory analysis.

Signs of a compromise on Capitol Hill over extending the Bush era tax cuts. House Republican leader John Boehner told Bob Schieffer this weekend that he would vote yes even if tax cuts for the wealthy are allowed to expire at the end of the year.

Saturday marked nine years since the September 11th attacks. The occasion was marked by the annual remembrance at Ground Zero. Nearby, a protest and counter-protest over the proposed Muslim prayer center a few blocks away.

An American woman arrested in Iran more than a year ago could soon be headed home. Sarah Shourd's Iranian lawyer says his client could be released on bail in the next two or three days. The two men arrested with Shourd could still be headed for trial.

And finally, Lady Gaga wowed the crowd with outrageous outfits as she took home 8 MTV Video Music Awards last night in Los Angeles.
