Texas man sought in pregnant girlfriend's murder found in La.

BEDFORD, Texas - A North Texas man suspected of murdering his pregnant girlfriend at their shared Bedford apartment has been arrested by Louisiana police, reports CBS DFW.

Robert Atlas, 26, is accused of killing 27-year-old Tracy Anderson, who was found dead Sunday afternoon after her mother called the Bedford Police Department and asked them to check on her daughter.

The victim, who was seven months pregnant, had been stabbed several times, according to CBS DFW. Anderson's mother said she had not heard from her daughter since Friday night. Anderson and Atlas had moved into the residence just three weeks earlier.

Investigators said that it looked like the apartment had been forcibly broken into and were initially concerned that Atlas was also in danger, but as the investigation progressed, officials started to see the boyfriend as a suspect. CBS DFW reported that Atlas was wanted for Anderson's murder on Monday.

Police said that they received a tip about the suspect's location early Tuesday morning. "It was someone [Atlas] knew," said Lt. David Smith, "and they contacted us and they encouraged him to turn himself in. But he was afraid, from what the tipster said."

Atlas was taken into custody after authorities found him sleeping in his car in a Walmart parking lot near Shreveport, La., at 2 a.m. Tuesday. He is currently jailed in Louisiana awaiting extradition back to Bedford, where he will face a capital murder charge.
