Suspect in Texas real estate agent's slaying in custody

FORTH WORTH, Texas – The suspect in the stabbing death of his estranged wife, who was a North Texas real estate agent, was taken into custody Tuesday following a standoff that spanned nearly six hours.

Police say John St. Angelo, the man who had barricaded himself in a Fort Worth home, shot multiple times at SWAT officers on Tuesday but officers did not return fire. No officers were injured.

St. Angelo was taken to a local hospital with at least one self-inflicted gunshot wound, authorities said.

Police responded to the home after getting a call from St. Angelo that he was there.

The Tarrant County medical examiner says Suzanne Parsons, the 49-year-old woman found dead Monday afternoon at her Forth Worth office, died from multiple stab and cut wounds to the neck and chest.

St. Angelo is Parsons’ estranged husband, according to CBS DFW.

The station reports court documents show Parsons and St. Angelo were in the middle of a bitter divorce. Parsons reportedly took out a protective order against St. Angelo claiming there had been several incidents where he had physically abused and threatened her.
