Shots fired at Wash. high school; no injuries, police say

LACEY, Wash. - Two gunshots were fired at a Washington high school Monday before the shooter was tackled by school staff and taken into custody, a law enforcement official tells CBS News.

Commander Joe Upton with the Lacey Police Department says a student used a revolver to fire the shots at North Thurston High School in Lacey on Monday morning.

Upton says the student was tackled by school staff and the gun was secured. He says the suspect is in custody and no staff or students were injured in the incident.

CBS affiliate KIRO reports emergency dispatchers confirmed reports of an active shooter on the school's campus at about 7:40 a.m. The school was subsequently placed on lockdown.

Lacey is about 60 miles southwest of Seattle.
