Daniel Bedingfield performed an acoustic version of his Top 10 U.S. hit, "Gotta Get Thru This," for The Saturday Early Show's Second Cup Café.
Bedingfield's new album is a mixture of R & B, classic pop, soul and a little disco. After peddling his self-pressed records to record stores, Bedingfield hit it big in England with "Gotta Get Thru This." It made it to the popular 'Pure Garage 4' compilation — propelling him to his own record deal.
The 22-year-old was born in New Zealand, but moved with his parents to England when he was 3 months old. His parents worked as social workers in South East London.
Bedingfield dabbled in music as a youth, but, at 16, he became more serious with it when his family saved enough to buy a synthesizer and later a computer.
Now, he may have nicer equipment, but he's still making the music from his heart.
