Schieffer Marks Anniversary
Bob Schieffer, CBS News Chief Washington Correspondent, celebrated 10 years as host of the CBS Sunday morning talk show, Face the Nation Wednesday night with a party in Washington, D.C.
Face the Nation is one of the longest-running news programs in the history of television, having premiered on CBS on November 7, 1954.
A Texas native, Schieffer has anchored the program, which originates from Washington, D.C., since 1991. Before that, he spent more than 20 years covering government and politics.
His weekly guests include government leaders, politicians, and international figures in the news
Among the guests at Wednesdays bash were Secretary of State Colin Powell, Sens. John McCain and Joseph Lieberman, CBS Evening News anchor Dan Rather and Andrew Heyard, president of CBS News.
