Satellite video shows US slammed with tornados in April
(CBS) - A tornado that killed 117 people in Missouri was the single deadliest twister in the past 60 years, according to National Weather Service. It was just one of hundreds of tornadoes that ripped across the states in the past month. This satellite footage shows just how many twisters Americans had to deal with in April.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration claims that their storm prediction center received around 875 tornado reports, in which 625 were confirmed as actual tornadoes.
To get a sense on how many tornados slammed the U.S., the NOAA created an animated video showing an infrared map of tornado activity from the first to the 30th of April.
