(CBS) NEW YORK- Sarah Jones, the 27-year-old former Cincinnati Bengals cheerleader who admitted to sleeping with her underage student, will star in her own reality television show, The New York Daily News reports.
"She's totally cashing in on her crime, and I'm pretty sure that if it was a 27-year-old man that had pleaded guilty to having sex with his 17-year-old female student he wouldn't have been given a TV show!," a source tells the newspaper.
The creators of the MTV hit "Jersey Shore" approached Jones with the proposal to star in her own reality series.
"This whole scandal has turned into one big payday for Sarah," the source said. "She was boasting that she 'made bank' for her 'Dateline (NBC)' interview last week and now she is going to be paid for appearing in her own reality TV show. It's sick."
Although it appears that the 27-year-old is taking advantage of her scandal, Jones has expressed remorse for what their families went through after her indiscretions came to light.
"Yeah, what I did was wrong, she said. "And I feel guilty as to what happened and that other people were hurt in this in a sense from our families having to go through this."
