Santorum says Alabama, Mississippi results "greatly" exceeded his expectations

GOP presidential candidate Rick Santorum speaks with CBS News correspondent Nancy Cordes shortly after his projected victories in the Alabama and Mississippi primaries, and says the results greatly exceeded his expectations.

Following his big night on Tuesday, CBS News asked Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum if the results met his expectations or exceeded them.

"I'd say greatly exceed," he said with a happily stunned look on his face after addressing supporters in Louisiana. "We're very excited!"

When asked how the results could change the race, he said: "As I've been saying... this adventure's going to be a two person race, and when it does, the conservative will win."

Santorum won GOP primaries in Alabama and Mississippi on Tuesday night.
