Samsung Galaxy S IV Mini to debut at June 20 event, WSJ reports

Samsung could take the wraps off the Galaxy S IV Mini at a launch event scheduled for Thursday, June 20.

Citing "a person with knowledge of the matter," The Wall Street Journal said today that the S IV Mini will likely be one of several new products taking the stage at next month's event in London. Announcing the event Monday, Samsung highlighted its Galaxy and Ativ lineup but was mum about which devices would be featured. The Ativ line includes PCs and tablets that run Windows 8, as well as smartphones outfitted with Windows Phone 8.

Samsung may have accidentally spilled a few beans about the Mini's forthcoming debut. On Sunday, the company's U.K. Web site for mobile apps listed the Galaxy S IV Mini with a photo and product number, Engadget discovered. The appearance was brief, however, as the listing was eventually removed.

Details about the S IV Mini remain a mystery. But some reports say it will be a smaller 4.3-inch version of the 5-inch S IV with a 1.6GHz processor, an 8-megapixel camera, and likely a lower price tag.

CNET contacted Samsung for comment and will update the story with any further information.
