(CBS News) Was dental surgery to blame for the death last week of Sage Stallone, the 36-year-old son of actor Sylvester Stallone?

The younger Stallone's mother, Sasha Czack, told the New York Post that Sage has five teeth pulled in one day, something she had warned him against.

"I told him not to do that," she told the newspaper. "I've heard about people dying having multiple procedures done to your mouth. Do not have more than one tooth [pulled]."

She speculated that he may have been taking painkillers in the aftermath of the surgery.

Sage was found dead in his Los Angeles home on Friday. Police said they found prescription drug bottles in the home but would not go into detail.

An autopsy was performed Sunday and coroner's officials are awaiting the results of toxicology tests, which could take several weeks.

Meanwhile, the Chicago Tribune is reporting that the Los Angeles Police Department's robbery-homicide division is involved in the investigation, although it remains primarily a coroner's case.

A funeral is being planned for Saturday in Brentwood for Sage, who appeared alongside his father in "Rocky V" (1990) and "Daylight" (1996). He was Sylvester Stallone's oldest child, and the first of two sons he had with ex-wife Sasha Czack.
