(CBS) MT. PLEASANT, Texas - Ruby Zavala, a 14-year-old girl who was abducted at knifepoint outside an East Texas church Sunday, was found safe in a field Monday afternoon, CBS DFW reports.

Ruby has been taken to the hospital and the kidnapping suspect, 23-year-old Jesus Ramirez, has been taken into police custody, according to the station.

Police say Ramirez also kidnapped Zavala's 4-year-old sister and mother outside of Saint Michael's Catholic Church in Mount Pleasant, about 100 miles east of Dallas, on Sunday. The mother and sister were later freed and the suspect fled with Ruby.

Mount Pleasant Police Chief Wayne Isbell said Monday that Ramirez was obsessed with Ruby and the two secretly dated in the past, the station reports. Isbell says Ramirez was previously charged with sexual assault of a child after Ruby's family learned the two had a relationship and forced them to break up.
