Report: Hezbollah Leader Survives Assassination Attempt By Poisoning

Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of the militant Lebanese Shiite group Hezbullah, recently survived an attempt to kill him by using a highly toxic chemical poison, according to diplomatic sources in Beirut who spoke to al Malaf Press. The sources said Nasrallah was in critical condition, but he started improving after receiving treatment by an Iranian medical team that brought its own equipment from Tehran onboard an Iranian air force Antonov aircraft that landed at Beirut Airport on October 18th. Hezbollah officials accused Israel of being behind the attempt on Nasrallah, according to the report.

Interestingly, Hezbullah had announced earlier this month, that it has named a deputy for its Secretary General, in case the latter was assassinated by Israeli intelligence.
